Revo Sunglasses

Revo Sunglasses launched in 1985 when Optical Engineer Dr. Mitch Ruda was working on a project for NASA. Dr. Ruda had a simple idea: 'what if we used the coatings that protect satellites to shield our eyes from the sun?'

Using these NASA-developed protective coatings, Dr. Ruda, applied these onto sunglasses and examined how they would indeed protect the eye. His findings were revolutionary and hence was Revo born. The brand continues to experiment and improve eye protection and by 1994, they started to offer five different collections dependent on the needs of the wearer: Classic, Shapes, Traveler, H2O, and Competition. This devotion to development, cemented Revo Sunglasses as a cutting-edge innovator in eyewear and then in 1998, Revo repositioned itself into the Sportswear Market with a performance collection comprised of high-contrast, polycarbonate lenses which redefined sporting eyewear.

This dedication to excellence was spotted by astronauts and sportsmen alike, as early as  1987, two-time Super Bowl champion Jim McMahon was frequently spotted in his Revo Sunglasses and fast became an unofficial ambassador. In 1988, Astronaut Pete Conrad, the third man on the moon, was featured in a Revo advertisement and in more recent years Revo has partnered with NASCAR superstar Danica Patrick for a capsule collection and adventurer Bear Grylls to launch a capsule collection featuring Revo SuperFlex™, an innovative, flexible frame material.
