The world of fashion eye wear owes a lot to Oliver Goldsmith.
Revolutionising the way we wore glasses, Goldsmith was the first to work with fashion houses to create one off pieces from the catwalks as well as introducing us to bamboo frames, butterflies and tennis racquets. Goldsmith was about creating a fashion statement with your eye wear, just as important as any accessory in your arsenal. To celebrate the work of the iconic eye wear house the V&A host an exhibition featuring over 70 of his frames, paying tribute to the companies contribution to fashion and eye wear over it's rich 80 year history
Nina Simone, Grace Kelly and Nancy Sinatra all counted themselves among fans of Goldsmith's bold and unusual designs. As one of Britain's oldest and most respected eye wear houses, being able to see some of their archive pieces up close would be a real treat. We think the Oliver Goldsmith Exhibition is a must see for any frame enthusiast!
