Oliver Peoples is a brand defined by the vintage. In fact, they were born of it. When founding creative director Larry Leight acquired a large collection of authentic, unworn vintage frames marked simply "Oliver People", they instantly found their place in the world of designer eyewear.Back in the late 80s, the industry was bent on boundary pushing, futuristic designs--but not Oliver Peoples. They pioneered into the future with a foot firmly in the past; in the height of quality, the classic and timeless. This solid foundation remains, and others can be seen clambering to emulate that which Oliver Peoples typifies: vintage-inspired design for the progressive of mind.

25th Anniversary

We feel pretty darn thrilled to have the privilege of offering Oliver Peoples optical frames and sunglasses to our fine patrons, and with their 25th Anniversary as a designer brand on the table (Happy Birthday, OV!), we knew they'd be bringing out something just a little bit special.

OV XXV Blog_4Why hello...

Oliver Peoples XXV-RX OV 5228 1003 Cocobolo

Behold, the Oliver Peoples XXV-RX 5228, seen above in Cocobolo (1003). A beautiful juxtaposition of vintage and modern, it's almost too good for us. The frame features stylishly bold acetate with intricately detailed hinges, adorned with a newly conceptualised plaque, leading onto a retro-inspired, sloping temple.

The range of colours are inspiring, and in keeping with the nature of Oliver Peoples, a perfect balance of retro and modern. In addition to the well-known signature Oliver Peoples Cocobolo colour, the other colours we get to choose our opticals from are a Matt Black (1031), Transparent Grey (1132--chosen especially for the 25th Anniversary as a representation of silver), Matt Sandalwood (1326) and a Slightly Light Beige (1208).

And if that weren't enough for you, Oliver Peoples have gone and made our day by also making the XXV Anniversary Edition available as sunglasses.

Above is the companion to her optical counterpart, the Oliver Peoples XXV-S 5227 in Cocobolo (1003) with a polarised Java lens. What a perfectly beautiful pair. The sunglasses are available in five different colours: Raintree with brown Photochromic VFX lenses (1011-85), Storm Grey with Photochromic VFX lenses (1002-R4), Black Midnight Express with Polarised Grey lenses (1005-P2), and Slightly Light Beige with Chocolate gradient lenses (1208-51).

Oliver Peoples sunglasses have an amazing, authenticity-proving hidden feature to their lenses when in direct contact with moisture, so be sure to make use of all the panting you'll be doing over these stunning sunnies to reveal their beautiful little birthmark.
